AREAS OF FOCUS
CLOSING THE MUSIC AND ARTS GAP
Public schools have dramatically slashed funding for music and the arts. Even though the economy rebounded, funding for this fundamental right has not. Some school districts slashed their budgets by as much as 76%. Those especially hit the hardest: schools in low-income areas. Schools in more affluent neighborhoods have greater access to tap foundations and community members to fill these funding gaps. Our foundation looks forward to working with school districts to alleviate this disparity.
PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
We believe music has the power to transform lives. Even when access to music education is available, it will look different from zip code to zip code. For communities of means, individualized lessons are the standard. For neighborhoods with limited resources, it means group lessons or nothing at all. Our foundation will provide scholarships to deserving members of the community who would otherwise be limited by finances.
HELPING ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS GIVE BACK
Many successful artists and musicians are thankful for their success. When they reach a point in their career where they can give back, they face many challenges including finances, tax implications, compliance, and logistics. As a foundation, we can support artists in their pursuit of philanthropic causes that align with our own.
